Hey everyone and welcome!
I’m Charles, and I’ve been working in data and business intelligence for longer than I’d care to admit. I’ve worked in retail for several big-box chains, engineering, and pharmaceuticals. I also presented at the Tableau and Alteryx conferences last year (I’ll post on this later on, by the way) and had a blast doing it.
This blog will be a mix of tech and BI (my favorite tools right now are
Tableau and
Alteryx, and they’ll come up often) best practices and tips and tricks, issues that we’ve run into in development, and expounding on data in my personal life (fantasy sports and anything else I run into).
I’m sure there will be plenty of nonsense as well. So stay tuned!
Thanks!

I began my professional career as an engineer, went on to work with four of the top ten pharmaceutical companies in the world, and have found a home in analytics. I have on-running projects that range in size from single-store POS data to tens of billions of dollars in financial transactions.
In May of 2015, I presented my work in Tableau automation to a sold-out audience at the Alteryx Inspire conference in Boston. My work in analytics automation for The Home Depot has led to millions in revenue growth and tens of thousands of hours of employees' time saved.
I also presented at the Tableau customer conference in Las Vegas in the fall of 2015. I will link to my slides when I have them ready to publish to the general public. In the meantime, you can always reach me at Charles@CharlesColeman.net.
Need to talk about your data? Need help with Tableau? I'm always available. Email me, and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.
Also! Do you work for a charity or non-profit and need data work or dashboards built? Email me, and I'll do the work pro bono!
